Ah, the poker tilt. If a poker player states never to have stared faced over the barrel of an approaching steam – they’re either telling a lie or they haven’t been gambling for a long time. This doesn’t mean of course that every poker player has been on steam in the past, a handful of people have excellent willpower and carry their squanderings as a loss and leave it at that. To be a powerful poker player, it’s very critical to approach your successes and your defeats in the same manner – with no emotion. You play the game in the same manner you did following a difficult beat as you would after winning a big hand. Most of the poker pros are not enticed by tilting following an awful loss as they are incredibly seasoned and you really should be to.
You must understand that you cannot win each and every hand you are in, even if you are the front runner. Hands which typically make people go on tilt are hands you were the favorite or at least thought you were until you were rivered and you burned a big portion of your stack. Bad losses are bound to happen. Face that certainty right now, I will say it once again – if your brother enjoys cards, if your parents enjoy cards, if your grandpa enjoys cards – We all have bad defeats sometime. It is an unavoidable experience of competing in Hold’em, or for that matter any kind of poker.
After all we are assumingly (almost all of us) playing poker for a single reason – to win $$$$, it would make sense that we would play appropriately to maximize our profit potential. Now let’s say you are up one hundred dollars off of a $100 deposit, and you take a gigantic hit in a No Limits game and your stack is at one hundred and twenty dollars. You have lost $80 in a hand where you should have picked up $200two hundred dollars when you went all-in on the flop and held a 10 – 1 advantage. And that fish! He bled you dry on the river? – Well hold it right there. This is a quintessential opportunity for a fresh bettor to begin tilting. They really just blew too much money on one round that they really should have won and they’re pissed
