Web poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years numerous variations on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players are given five cards. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s first card, you must either make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s amount is on same level to your beginning bet, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes directly to the bank. After the wager is the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, with an amount on par with the original wager. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The house pays out cash equal to your original bet and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
