Do you ever obtain that itch? The itch to wager, to head to the nearest gambling house, to come across a good stakes game of Holdem, to sit at a Pontoon table for hours on end. I love that itch. And I love to scratch it.

I also love to watch people today bet. No 2 poker faces seem equal. When I wager I like to assume I put on a poker face which is impenetrable. Except I know I have certain gestures. For one, the only time I smoke cigarettes is when I play poker or Black-jack. And then I smoke. Except I chain smoke no matter if I am succeeding or losing, whether I have a excellent hand or bad.

I once bet in a very weekly poker game. The casino game was always five card draw. There was a guy who played with us every week who constantly wore a hat. When he was dealt a great hand, subconsciously, he would begin touching and betting with his hat. Pointless to say, he in no way won.

The very best poker player I ever saw was a player who produced more actions and gestures at a poker table than anyone I had ever met. He was flawless in the way he dressed. Constantly an high priced suit and tie, shoes shined and nails manicured. He was meticulous in this manner. And he was always brushing his pant leg or holding his hands or putting his chips in neat little piles.

I use to examine him for hours on end. I would attempt to see if I could spot his tell. Selecting fuzz off his vest- did this imply he was bluffing? Arranging his chips in a short pile – did this imply he had a beneficial hand?

Years later I bumped into him in the bar in Chi town and we had a drink. I asked him if he had been aware of all those motions he manufactured or if they were unconscious. He told me that just about every individual thing he did at a poker table was intentional. He said that everyone is often checking out everybody else’s poker face. They are attempting to notice the the tell.

So his technique was to give them lots to assume about. His reasoning was if they have been thinking about him picking a piece of lint off his vest and what it meant they sure were not thinking about their cards.

His program was diversion. And it worked for him. In no way give up a method that operates for you.
